aspen victorian

When a historic blue-grey victorian, anchored in the west end of Aspen, became a summer home for a renowned art collector, curator, author and philanthropist; a typical victorian garden just wouldn't do.  The goal was to honor the historic nature of the property, but do it in a vibrant, creative and contemporary way.  The result, a bold patchwork of chartreuse, deep purple and silver-blue contrasting the traditional brick walkways and sod.  Texture and foliage are the stars in this elegantly refined garden, of course with the occasion indulgence in a beautiful blooming or fragrant flower.  Clusters of black powder-coated steel planters, overflowing with flowers and foliage in shades of purple and apple green, are planted each spring.
