holy grounds

The Christ Episcopal Church in Aspen is a historical building with a distinct barrel roof.  in 2007, the board decided it was time for a make-over.  Studio b delicately designed a beautiful modern addition and renovated the existing portion of the building.  Elements had the privilege of working with congregation member and landscape architect, ed stone on the schematic design process for the landscape.  Elements also worked closely with the board members of the church to design and implement a cost-effective, beautiful and appropriate design.  Fundraising efforts generated funds for a memorial garden with custom engraved benches and pavers meandering through the landscape as well as four stone planters with lighting built along the entry way to match the stone of the church.  A privacy fence and bench were built in the back scripture garden.  The irrigation system and overall landscape for both the church and neighboring rectory were over-hauled to reduce maintenance and enhance what was existing.
